Marriage for Eternity (by Sarah H. Sales)
Hi dear sisters! I would like to share my miraculous wedding story...My husband and I witnessed many miracles from the time we planned for it until the very moment of ourbig day. When we plannedfor it, we knew it's going to be tough...and it really was! Even beyond what we ever imagined. At last we made it, against all odds! Our wedding day was the best thing that happenedto my life. And everyday of our married life is a blessing.I would love to share a little about our love story and then what made our wedding day really special. I hope this willinspire every soon-to-be bride to look at their weddings to be more than just a BIG DAY but something ETERNAL.
Ok, here we go :) When my husband was still courting me, I prayed about him. I know in my heart that, yeah he won't be perfect, so do I. But I'd like him to be the person that will always bring me close to God. I want someone who has the same perspective as I have. We have differences, but still we are able to fill the gaps on our missing pieces so...that's it! HE'S THE ONE! From the very start of our relationship, we were already thinking about getting married soon, but it took us 3 years to make our dreams come true. He still needs to finish his studies while I am the breadwinner in our family. But our souls felt like there's more than just a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship...We wanted to be a "family". So on our 3rd year, we decided that no matter what, we will get married that year. There's this one place that we wanted our marriage to be done...it is in the holy temple (Manila Philippines Temple). The only place where we know, marriage becomes eternal.
Hello! Oh thank youso much! Sure, i'll be posting more wedding pictures :)
Ok this is it! He proposed :) During a party at church, we were about to perform a dance number...and when I was at the backstage, I read a big signage at the stage curtain. and it says "WILL YOU MARRY ME?". Then he was suddenly in front of me, on he's knees presenting me a silver ring. While I was in great surprise, the stage curtain opened and the lights were out. All I can see are the waving luminoussticks held by the audience. With the crowd yelling, I then said "YES!". Then the party started :)
I thought, that would be the beginning of our exciting journey to our wedding day, but boy was I wrong. My soon-to-be mother in law whom at first loved me so much, suddenly changed. She was asking me to postponed our wedding because she thinks her son can't handle it. Well, I was brave to tell her that we prayed about it and I trust his son that he can do it. After that, she never spoke to me. As far as I remember, she made everything in her power to postpone our wedding. Even my husband's friends we suddenly against our decision. Yes, it was delayed for about 6 months...but after that my husband made sure that nothing can stop us. And August 25, 2012 was our new target date!
Alright, here we go now! Wedding plans on the way :)
Well, we didn't actually plan for what's going to happen... We just wanted a wedding ceremony, that's all. No wedding receptions, no gorgeous wedding gown, we actually weren't thinking about the wedding ring. We thought that we can have it later on. Haha! But my girlfriends insisted their plans...and yes,I've got the most sincere wedding planners! They just asked our favorite color and in a sudden our wedding motif was BLUE! My other friend offered her sister in-laws beautiful wedding gown because it fits me so well, and it was really gorgeous!
Our wedding day was getting nearer and nearer and my friends were panicking. However, they didn't want us (bride & groom) to worry about it. They probably understood what we're going through. Later on my next post, you'll be surprise on what they did for us...and you'll know what miracles happened that day.
Going back to the story :)
One week before our wedding was one of the most crucial. My husband was hoping that his mom will attend our wedding but if not, then he has accept it. He was also pressured at work because his boss wouldn't allow him to take a whole day leave on our wedding day because they have an important meeting in the morning...that was really tough! Then, I had to go find an alternative wedding gown because suddenly I couldn't use the offered gown anymore...that was horrible. But still, nothing can stop us! Miraculously, my husband's work meeting was cancelled and he will be able to enjoy our big day to the fullest. Also, I was able to find a simple gown that is worth $19 (900 Php). And without us knowing, our friends prepared the reception venue, menu, program, flowers, giveaways, wedding cake and invitations! And my best friend asked her cousin who is a beautician to do my hair and make-up! That blessings were really overwhelming! And of course, my mother-in-law suddenly appeared in our wedding with tears in her eyes. She then gave us a little box that contains our silver wedding rings! We couldn't handle all the miracles that happened during that day. Dear sisters, pray for your wedding plans :) God will surely answer your prayers and righteous desires. He will even give you the blessings that you do not expect. Marriage is indeed ordained of God.

What a wonderful love story. Your wedding dress is so value-for-money! How did you finally know that is the right dress for you? Most brides-to-be claims they have tears in their eyes when they are in the Right Dress. Is it like that for you too?
